The Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that from Monday, November 27, until Friday, December 17, Christmas trees will be on sale at the following points of sales:

will be held during working hours, Monday – Friday, 08:00 - 14:30. The trees that will be for sale
come from thinnings of forest plantations in the context of forestry
operations, which are made in order to improve growth conditions and reduce
competition in forest plantations. It is recalled that felling,
possession and transport of Christmas trees without the relevant permit from
the Department of Forests is, in accordance with the "Forestry Law of
2012", an offence punishable by a fine of up to €5,000 or imprisonment
of up to one year or both penalties together. Private tree owners are urged
to secure in advance the necessary logging and transport permits and present
them to the officers of the Department of Forests for inspection, when
requested. Before transporting the trees from the logging sites, they must contact
the nearest forestry station and ensure that they are sealed at the bottom –
cross-section – with a seal of the Department of Forests. (MS/GS) |
