All new court cases in Cyprus will be filed electronically – with just a handful of exceptions – as from December 18 this year, Philenews reported on Friday.
That is, Cyprus will move on from the electronic registration system (i-Justice) which came into implementation in February 2022 to the full transition of the legal sector to the digital age (e-justice).
Most importantly, documents related to other crucial services such as the Police, Legal Service and Welfare Office will also need to be registered electronically.
Specifically, from the above das from December 18, the e-justice system will go live in all courts except the Supreme Court.
The i-justice electronic registration system will continue to be in operation till 1:00pm on Friday, December 15, 2023.
From that time onwards, no registrations will be allowed/accepted on it. All pending entries in i-justice (except for approved requests for drafting orders and for preparation of certified copies) will be processed by the Register of Deeds by 3:00 p.m. on December 15, 2023.
