The Paphos Police is investigating a case of burglary of the Welfare Office building in Paphos.
According to the press representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos Michalis Nikolaou, it was reported on Tuesday morning to the Paphos Police by an employee of the Welfare Office that the main entrance of the building of the Welfare Office in Paphos was violated. Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE that the scene has been cordoned off and investigations are being carried out by members of the Paphos Police in order to find out if anything has been stolen.
The scene is guarded by the Paphos Police and the examinations continue.

On Monday, the Police proceeded to the arrest of a 33-year-old wanted man in order to facilitate the investigations for investigated cases of burglaries and thefts, as well as illegal possession of drugs and property in Paphos.
According to the press representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos Michalis Nikolaou, last night members of the Paphos Crime Prevention Ulam went to a specific street, in the city of Paphos, in search of a wanted person, aged 33, a permanent resident of Cyprus.
As Mr. Nikolaou reported to KYPE, an arrest warrant was pending against the 33-year-old for an investigated case of theft from a residence as well as causing malicious damage which was reported to the Paphos Police Department on November 15, 2023. Upon the arrival of the police, Mr. Nikolaou continued , they located the suspect walking outside his residence, approached him and informed him that he was under arrest on an outstanding warrant against him.
He allegedly ran away, was chased and eventually was successfully stopped and arrested a short distance away. He allegedly resisted his arrest.
The 33-year-old was initially arrested for the offenses of escaping and resisting lawful arrest. Subsequently, a search was carried out in a waist bag that he was carrying, where a quantity of cannabis, weighing approximately 9 grams, as well as a white crystalline substance similar to methamphetamine, weighing approximately 5 grams, was allegedly found, so he was also arrested for illegal possession of drugs.
Also, a number of old and foreign banknotes were reportedly found in his possession, for which he did not give satisfactory explanations and he was arrested again for the crime of illegal possession of property. The exams continue at the TAE Paphos.

The first sentences for last August's Chloraka incidents were recently imposed by the Pafos District Court.
In the trial of the first 17 accused of participating in incidents of those days, sentences were imposed on two Greek Cypriots, while for the rest the proceedings were postponed in order to answer an admission or not.
The court specifically imposed a fine of €600 on a 19-year-old, and a 23-year-old six months in prison suspended for three years and a fine of €600. Both admitted their involvement in the incidents before the bench today.
For some of the remaining defendants, the proceedings were postponed until today and for others until March 6, 2024 to answer the charges.
