A 45 year old Romanian man, against whom an international arrest warrant was pending, was arrested at Paphos Airport.
The Romanian man is accused of committing an armed robbery in a European capital and, after his arrest, the procedure for his extradition will follow.

A 22 year old Syrian man was arrested by Police last night. The vehicle in which he was travelling was stationary, but he did not have documentation.
The driver himself tested positive for drugs and was found in possession of small quantities of cannabis and crystals.

A contract policeman was spotted by members of the hunting service poaching using searchlights.
The incident took place last night in an area of Tremithousa. The police officer will immediately pay a fine of €200 for the use of lights, while another €85 is the police extrajudicial fee.
It is not know what impact this will have on his work.

Members of the Aliens and Immigration service conducted examinations in workplaces yesterday. They identified a Georgian who was staying illegally in Cyprus and will be deported.
They also identified a Syrian who, although residing in this country with political refugee status, did not have a work contract.

The Famagusta District Court yesterday sentenced a 25-year-old man to 30 months in prison and two men aged 28 and 35 to four months in prison after finding them guilty in connection with the following offences:
The 25-year-old in relation to the offences:
- Entry into the Republic without permission,
- intentionally assisted 57 third-country nationals to enter the territory of the Republic, and
- With intent for financial gain, they transported 57 nationals by sea.
The 28-year-old and 35-year-old in connection with the offence:
- With intent for financial gain, they transported 57 nationals by sea
These offences were committed on 14/08/2023 in Famagusta district.
