On December 5, in the afternoon, the eve of the great feast of Agios Nikolaos, the ecclesiastical committee of the church of the saint, which has been erected on the beach of Geroskipou, in collaboration with the Municipality of Geroskipou, organize a religious celebration for the 10 years since the construction and operation of the church.

At 4.30pm on this day, vespers will be held at the now popular chapel on the beach of Geroskipou, where the Metropolitan of Pafos, Tychikos, is located. The service will be followed by a reception in the courtyard to celebrate the 10 years of intense presence of the church of Agios Nikolaos in the lives of all those who worked for the realization of the great goal and for the thousands of believers who over these years have made the coastal church one of the most visited in Cyprus.

The next day, on the feast day of the saint, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the chapel, from 6.30 to 8.30 in the morning.

Along with the celebration for the 10th anniversary of the church of Agios Nikolaos on the beach of Geroskipou, the memory of the late Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II, who on November 7 completed one year since his repose, since he was the one who donated the land for the construction of the church and supported at every stage of the project for its completion.

Speaking to "F", the inspirer of the creation of the church, well-known Pafos lawyer Popi Athinodorou-Mantis, stressed that in this small church today take place the most mysteries of all the temples of Pafos, perhaps Cyprus.

From morning till late at night the candles do not stop being lit, she said, and it is surprising how many young people pray late at night when she and her husband, Kostas Mantis, go there to close the church.

For ten whole years we open it in the morning around 7.00 and close it late at night. If we go even at midnight, there is always a candle lit, she concluded.
