'BROTHERLY LOVE' - THE NEW WORK OF IOTA IOANNIDOU

 Pafos Press 13 November 2023

Paphos was decorated with a new work of art created by the talented  Tala sculptor-artist Iota Ioannidou.

With a post on Social Media, our beloved sculptor reveals her new work, which according to information from PafosPress.com, depicts the love between two brothers.

A project, as she mentions, which was done on a private initiative for someone's personal space, for his children.

Characteristically, Iota Ioannidou mentions the following:

"YET ART HOPES! Fortunately, there are also art lovers who invest in Art from their personal wealth, creating centers of culture.

I highly appreciate the result without considering the reasons that push them to engage and invest in Art. They undoubtedly contribute to offering opportunities to artists to create and present their work. So the will of art-loving investors is very positive and commendable.

Simply the lack of a corresponding presence on the part of state bodies creates an imbalance".

It should be noted that similar initiatives were taken by other private individuals of Pafos, such as the statue of the "Farmer Mother". It is a bronze sculpture of the peasant mother which is located in the community of Argakas, in the courtyard of the regional kindergarten of Argakas. The sculpture is a donation of the deceased Christofis Karamanis. His desire was to give eternal honour to the peasant mother.

Let's not forget the statue of "the girl with the hula hoop" which passed through accomplices after its destruction and theft, although its sponsor reinvested in the project, which was again constructed by the visual artist Iota Ioannidou.

The statue was a donation to the city of Paphos by our Chinese compatriot Alexander Jiang.

"The girl with the hula hoop", depicted Alexander's little daughter, Alexandra.
