ECTN European Cultural Tourism Awards 2023 - First prize for the Drousia Community in the category "Traditional skills, craftsmanship and creativity"
The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region congratulates the Community of Drousia - Museum of Rural Life AKAMA, for its success in the institution of the Europeans ECTN 2023 Cultural Tourism Awards, held this year in Paphos in cooperation with the European Tourism Commission, the NECSTouR network and the Europa organization Nostra.
The Drousia community was awarded 1st Prize among four finalists out of 10 candidates applications, for her proposal for the Museum of Rural Life AKAMA and for her initiatives for the preservation of the cultural heritage but mainly for the promotion and promotion efforts of creative tourism through authentic and unique experiences offered by the community with the creative workshops that are systematically held at the Museum.
The Drousia Community and ETAP Paphos have been working systematically and have of others succeeds in: Highlighting the museum through the organization of visiting workshops but and free guided tours, to achieve further awareness of the Community and the wider community area through the continuous digital projection, to achieve an upgrade of the presentation of points of interest through smart signage and more.
At the same time, they work to limit visual pollution and preserve cleanliness, utilization and preservation of the natural environment, the enrichment of the tourist experience for visitors.
