Yesterday, around 2pm, the Police were informed about an incident of a knife attack on a sidewalk at a point on Antonis Azina Street in Mouttalos. Members of the ICF and other departments of the Pafos Police Authority rushed to the scene, which they blocked.
The examinations revealed that around 1355, a 60-year-old man attacked with a knife and injured the right buttock of a 36-year-old foreign man, a permanent resident of Pafos. The injured man was taken by ambulance to Paphos Hospital and admitted to surgery. He has a punctured wound at a point above the right buttock.
Various documents were received from the scene for scientific examinations. Intensive examinations continue to determine the identity of the perpetrator and the cause of the incident.
The offence under investigation is that of Attempted Murder.

Police have just located and arrested in Coral Bay the 61-year-old man who was wanted on suspicion of the attempted murder committed yesterday afternoon in Paphos.
His arrest followed information about a person moving suspiciously in the area. The 61-year-old was questioned by investigators after his arrest and denies any connection to the incident.
At the same time, the 36-year-old man who was stabbed and was hospitalized is out of danger at Paphos Hospital, signed today the relevant declaration of responsibility and was discharged.
The attempted murder in the old Turkish Cypriot district of Mouttalos in Paphos took place on Friday afternoon. The 61-year-old allegedly attacked and stabbed a foreign resident of Paphos under circumstances investigated by police, before fleeing the scene.
The injured man was transported by ambulance to Paphos Hospital and admitted to surgery. He was found to have a wound to his right buttock and was detained for hospitalization until he was discharged today.
Various documents were received from the scene for scientific examinations, while investigations into the causes of the incident are ongoing. Police are investigating the case as attempted murder.

A fire broke out in ambulances at Larnaka Old Hospital at dawn on Saturday.
According to the Spokesman of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, the fire broke out around 01:20 in the morning in 4 ambulances, which were parked in a parking lot of the Old Hospital of Larnaka.

As a result of the fire, ambulances suffered extensive damage. The Larnaka Fire Brigade Stations responded to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Police in cooperation with the Fire Brigade.
