As part of the collection and evaluation of evidence, members of the ICF Nicosia found at around 11.50 last night in Nicosia, a car that had been reported as stolen, driven by a 28-year-old man, against whom an arrest warrant was pending for burglary and theft cases.
Other members of the Police were called to the scene. The 28-year-old was seen parking the vehicle in an open area and driving away from it on foot, while a few minutes later he approached the said vehicle again where the members of the Police immediately intervened and arrested him based on the court warrant pending against him.
A body search found him in possession of the key to the car in question, as well as a pocket knife. The 28-year-old was re-arrested for flagrant offences. In a search carried out inside the stolen vehicle, a number of tools were found as well as another car's key.

The Pafos District Court issued three days of detention orders on Sunday against two persons in connection with an ongoing case of theft from a residence.
According to the spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, on October 6, a 79-year-old man reported that on the same day at 18:00 in the afternoon, two tree mowers and a car battery with a total value of 630 euros were stolen from the shed of his residence.
The examinations provided testimony that the alleged perpetrator was a passenger in a car of a certain number which was seen stopping outside the complainant's residence and removing the above items.
Nicolaou said that on October 14 at 17:30 in the afternoon members of the Pafos Traffic Police spotted the car in question moving on Sotiraki Markides Street. It was stopped and it was found that he was being driven by a 29-year-old man who was illegally on the territory of the Republic with a 24-year-old asylum seeker as a co-driver. A quantity of cannabis weighing about 12 grams was found in the driver's possession, while a narcotest test he underwent had a positive indication.
Arrest warrants were obtained against the two persons in connection with the above theft and they were arrested on Sunday, October 15. The two persons were placed in three-day detention.

The Bulgarian was riding a bicycle that was stopped for inspection by members of the Paphos police.

The 5 Israelis, who are accused of gang-raping a 20-year-old British woman on September 3 in a hotel room in Ayia Napa, have failed to admit to the serious charges they face. The defendants were charged with six counts of rape and kidnapping, including rape and kidnapping, which carry prison sentences of up to life.
The Famagusta Permanent Assize Court in Paralimni set the case for hearing on December 18, 20 and 21. Counsel for two of the defendants objected to their detention, but it was rejected by the court. The 20-year-old British woman reported being gang-raped by a number of Israelis on the evening of Sunday, September 3. The suspect then allegedly grabbed her by the arm and forcibly led her to the room he was staying in with other compatriots. There, the 20-year-old claimed, she was raped successively by people who followed him.
The girl, according to her complaint, started shouting and the alleged attackers let her go. She then informed the hotel management, who alerted the police.

A 41-year-old man, who was wanted in connection with an ongoing case of assault and stabbing of a 25-year-old man, committed on June 30, in Nicosia, was located and arrested by members of the Police. The suspect was taken into custody, with the ICF Nicosia investigating a case of assault, causing grievous bodily harm, carrying weapons to incite terror, stabbing, and fighting.
The attack according to the evidence under examination took place on the afternoon of Friday, June 30, when three persons attacked a 25-year-old man while he was at a premises in Nicosia. During the attack, one of the three attackers allegedly stabbed the 25-year-old in the chest. The 25-year-old injured man was treated at Nicosia General Hospital, from where he was discharged a later day.
As one of the three perpetrators, he was arrested on July 1, by members of the Police, a man aged 21, (Police Bulletin No. 2, dated 02/07/2023, relevant). This was followed on August 22, by the arrest of a second suspect, a 25-year-old man, (Police Bulletin No. 2, dated 23/08/2023, relevant). In relation to the 21-year-old and 25-year-old suspects, the Police have already registered the case before a Court for trial.
The ICF Nicosia continues the examinations.

The Police were mobilized after a powerful explosion, which occurred at dawn on Monday in Nicosia and specifically in the area of Aglantzia.
According to the police, around 4:00 am on Monday, an explosive device exploded, which was placed by unknown persons at the entrance of the tavern. The explosion damaged the door and windows of the tavern.
Members of the Police rushed to the scene, where they cordoned off the scene for examinations.

An underage driver was arrested by police in Paphos on Saturday while he was behind the wheel of his uncle’s car, who was sitting beside him.
The 16-year-old was driving, while his 64-year-old uncle was in the front passenger seat.
The 64-year-old was charged in writing and later released, while the underage driver will face a different process due to his age.
In a separate incident, on Sunday, at 11.10pm in Chlorakas, police stopped a 27-year-old cyclist who was allegedly under the influence of narcotics. The individual tested positive for drugs.
On the same day, a 36-year-old driver was apprehended for excessive speeding on the road leading to the village of Polis Chrysochous, where he was caught driving at a speed of 107 kilometers per hour, well above the permitted limit of 50.
The driver was taken into custody and later charged in writing before being released.
According to Paphos police spokesperson Michalis Nicolaou, from Friday morning to Sunday night a total of 140 traffic-related checks were carried out in the Paphos district.
Of these, 22 cases involved driving under the influence of alcohol, five were related to driving under the influence of drugs, and 24 individuals were found to be driving at excessive speeds.
