The Ministry of Finance gave an extension until the end of October for the submission of tax returns for 2022.
In an announcement on platform X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry of Finance states that it has been decided, following a relevant proposal submitted to the Council of Ministers, that the date of submission of a tax return for the tax year 2022, as well as the deadline for the payment of the tax due according to this return (self-taxation), by a person other than self-employed and by a self-employed person who is not obliged to prepare audited or reviewed accounts, extended until October 31, 2023 at 23:59.
The original deadline for filing tax returns was October 2.
Employees, Pensioners and Self-employed have the obligation to submit an Individual Income Declaration 2022, whose gross total income for the year 2022 is greater than €19.500. If you have been residence in Cyprus for 17 or more years, even if your income is less than €19,500, you must submit a return on investment income for the defence levy.
