The Pafos Municipal Council will give negative views to the town planning in relation to the request of the owners of the former hotel ALOE for its demolition and the construction of two high-rise buildings.
Central town planning is not obliged to adopt the position of the local authority, which it usually takes seriously. Ten members of the body were in favour of the construction of the multi-storey buildings, ten were against and with the victorious vote of the mayor, who was negative, the position of the local authority was formed.
The city council was essentially divided, as were some municipal groups, since the positive stance taken by the majority of the members of the DISY team was not followed by municipal councilors Christakis Neophytou and George Dimitriadis. Apart from DISY, DIKO and the municipal councillor of ELAM were positive.
