A small dog trapped in an empty concrete water tank, three meters high, was rescued by men of the British Bases in Avgorou Community.
On Wednesday, August 30, a citizen, Tassos Matthaiou, spotted a small dog, trapped in an empty, three-meter-high, concrete water tank. A joint operation was immediately set up between the Police and the Bases Fire Brigade."
Lieutenant Esra Omer said: "Bases officers from Agios Nikolaos and the Fire Department went to the scene and found a dog, about three months old, trapped in a water tank. Firefighters safely entered the tank and rescued the dog, which looked healthy, without injuries."
According to the announcement, "the dog was given water and after its owner did not show up, Tasos Mattheou decided to keep it. Mr. Mattheou thanked the SBA Police and Fire Brigade for their efforts to save the dog."
