CRIME ROUND UP

Pafos Live 24 September 2023

A young man from the village of Psathi was shot by unknown people. He has been transferred and is being treated at Paphos Hospital.

Relatives of the 31-year-old from Psathi who was shot with a shotgun disarmed the 34-year-old gunman and handed him over to police.

He has already admitted his act. The victim was transferred from Paphos hospital to Nicosia hospital.

In the yard of the victim's house, the perpetrator of the attempted murder waited.  When the victim  arrived he shot him twice while he was still sitting in the driver's seat. This seems to have saved his life after the pellets first hit the front glass of the vehicle.

The personal differences between the two young people, according to the testimony of the perpetrator, began two months ago when they argued in a nightclub in Paphos. Last night they met again at a leisure centre and although they did not get involved, they exchanged, as he testified, vicious glances.

The health condition of the victim is judged by the attending physicians to be serious. The alleged perpetrator appeared before the Pafos court, which issued an eight-day detention order against him.
