Members of the Pafos Traffic Police Team G recorded today another success. They intercepted a vehicle of a Syrian who is in Paphos with the status of asylum seeker for inspection.

This gentleman who asked for the protection and help of democracy was spreading death among its citizens.

Inside his vehicle, 24 nylon packages of cannabis were found and he was arrested.

A new case of child pornography is being investigated by the Police, whose members proceeded today to the arrest of a 52-year-old resident of Limassol. The 52-year-old is being investigated for the offences of obtaining or possessing child pornography, obtaining access to child pornography and distributing, disseminating or transmitting child pornography.

The investigation of the case began after information was provided to the police through Europol that a certain user of accounts on social media platforms uploaded on the internet and sent to other users a large number of files of images of child sexual abuse.

From the investigations conducted by the Cybercrime Branch, testimony was obtained against the 52-year-old, on the basis of which a judicial arrest warrant was issued against him.

The 52-year-old was located today in Limassol by members of the ICF Limassol and was arrested under the court warrant. A mobile phone was found in his possession, which was confiscated as evidence, for forensic examination. His home was searched, where two computers and two hard drives were also located and confiscated.

The 52-year-old was brought before the Limassol District Court, which issued a six-day detention order against him.

The Cybercrime Division is investigating the case.
