TWO HUNDRED MILLION FOR THE MARINA AT POTIMA

Company that will invest approximately €200 million. will be needed for the construction, development and management of the Paphos marina in Kissonerga, according to the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.

According to what the President of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, George Mai, told the Brief, the announcement of the tender is expected to be made by the end of 2023, after some obstacle that had arisen and the whole process was delayed. If everything goes according to plan, early in the second quarter of 2024, it is estimated that the tender will be awarded.

Asked about this, May said that the tender will be made using the BOT method, i.e. as is the agreement at Cypriot airports.

May said that the amount of investment to be made amounts to about €200 million, which will be given entirely by the company that will undertake the offer and which will manage the Paphos marina for at least 33 years, although it should be noted that so far this period has not been determined.

As Mr. May explained, the port project is expected to range at a level of around €120-€130 million, while land development is expected to cost about €65-70 million.

It should be noted that there is also the possibility of building a hotel.

1000 boats in Paphos Marina 

According to the President of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Pafos marina will be able to accommodate 1000 vessels (600 at sea and 400 on land), while the investor will be given the opportunity to choose whether he wants to serve cruise ships and/or yachts.
