The 42-year-old mother of a 10-year-old Russian girl who drowned in a villa pool in Peyia is being prosecuted. The little girl, who had serious health problems, was found floating unconscious in the pool of the mansion where she was staying with her mother.
The 42-year-old was unconscious after drinking a large amount of alcohol. The legal service, after the completion of the case file by the ICF of Pafos, gave instructions for criminal prosecution of the mother. She faces charges of causing death by negligence and failing to take proper safety measures as the child's responsible guardian.
The start of the hearing was set for August 23. The 42-year-old is free on parole.
