ORANGE WARNING IN THE MOUNTAINS, YELLOW IN THE INTERIOR

The Meteorological Service has again issued a double warning for high temperatures.

Specifically, the first concerns an orange warning which states that the maximum temperature in the higher mountains is expected to rise around 35 degrees Celsius. This warning will be in effect from 12:00 noon until 18:00 pm.

At the same time, the second concerns a yellow warning according to which the minimum temperature in the higher mountains is not expected to fall below 24 degrees Celsius in the mountains, while the maximum temperature in areas of the interior is expected to rise around 40 degrees. The warning is expected to come into effect from 21:00 last night and will last until 18:00 pm.

Weather in detail

Seasonal low pressure affects the area. Dilute dust will be suspended intermittently in the atmosphere through Thursday.

Today, the weather will be mostly clear, while on the west and north coasts, locally increased low clouds will be observed from time to time. The winds will initially blow southeast to southwest and locally to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming by the afternoon southwest to northwest, of the same intensity and locally moderate, 4 Beaufort. However, temporarily in the afternoon, on the windward coast, winds will blow up to strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea in the south and east, will initially be calm until a little turbulent, but by the afternoon, a little turbulent and locally in the south until turbulent. In the west and north, the sea will be a little turbulent and transient to turbulent. The temperature will rise around 40 degrees in the interior, around 32 on the west and north coasts, around 33 on the rest of the coasts and around 35 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight the weather will continue to be mostly clear, although at times, mainly on the coast, locally increased low clouds will be observed. During the dawn hours, mainly in southeastern and eastern areas, sparse fog or fog may form. The winds will blow west to northwest and later locally to northeast, initially weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea in the west and north will be a little turbulent, however in the south and east it will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 25 degrees in the interior and on the coast and around 24 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mostly clear, while locally increased clouds will be observed from time to time.

The temperature until Saturday is not expected to change significantly, to remain above the average climatic values for the season.
