MITSOTAKIS - A WEEK OF FREE HOLIDAYS IN RHODES FOR THOSE WHO LEFT DUE TO THE FIRES

 Filenews 2 August 2023

The government is offering a week of free holidays in Rhodes to tourists who were forced to interrupt their stay on the island this July due to the large fire that broke out on the island, as announced by the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"The Greek government, in cooperation with local authorities, will offer a week of free holidays in Rhodes next spring or autumn" for all those who lost them due to the fires, the prime minister told British channel ITV this morning.

"Rhodes today is more hospitable than ever, the island has returned to normality," the prime minister stressed.

It is recalled that due to the large fire in Rhodes that burned 135,000 acres of forest, the largest evacuation operation ever carried out in the country was set up, after 19,000 people were evacuated with coordinated actions.
