With a deadline of 1 January 2025, non-residential buildings with more than 20 parking spaces are required to have at least one electric vehicle recharging point.
Specifically, the Energy Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry announced that, according to article 9D(2) of the "Regulation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Law of 2006" (Law 142(I)/2006), by January 1, 2025, at least one electric vehicle recharging point should be installed in all non-residential buildings with more than twenty (20) parking spaces.
The above requirement of the Law is part of the policies and measures implemented in order to increase the infrastructure of electromobility in buildings.
After January 1, 2025, the Energy Service plans to conduct random checks to check compliance with the relevant provision of the Law.
