Driving his SUV-type vehicle, he dragged a 12-year-old girl on a pedestrian crossing in the city of Belovo in the Russian industrial district, resulting in the death of the minor.
The proceedings against him were immediately initiated, as since last Saturday he has been detained as part of the investigation of the case, while the next day he was brought before the Court, since he is facing an article of the Russian Criminal Code for causing death.
The 63-year-old comes from the Kemerovo region, however, as mentioned in court, he has been permanently residing in the Republic of Cyprus for more than 20 years. It was clarified that he does not own real estate in Russia and that the offense he is accused of carries a sentence of up to three years in prison.
