Pafos Live 23 August 2023



 A young Greek Cypriot who ravaged Pafos for two months was indicted before the Pafos Permanent Criminal Court.

He is accused of about 20 thefts and arson of vehicles. A number of stolen vehicles believed to be involved in the young man have not been identified.

During his arrest in Limassol, he was also found in possession of a noxious gas launcher while he had escaped from a police checkpoint in Paphos.

The court will meet on September 13 and until then he will be in police custody.

A ten-year-old British girl holidaying in a Paphos hotel with her parents has reported sexual harassment.

A 48-year-old compatriot who lives in the same unit was arrested and detained in connection with the case.

The 42-year-old Russian mother of the 10-year-old girl who drowned in a villa pool in Peyia on July 20 is being prosecuted following instructions from the Legal Service.

The start of the hearing was set for today , August 23, while the 42-year-old was free on parole. It is recalled that the unfortunate little girl, who was facing serious health problems, was found floating unconscious in a mansion pool where she was staying with her mother, after they came on holiday to our island.

The 42-year-old, after investigations and as found by the investigators of the Pafos ICF, was unconscious after consuming a large amount of alcohol, while the little girl tragically died in the pool.

The Legal Service, after the completion of the case file by the ICF of Pafos, gave instructions for her criminal prosecution.

The charges she faces are those of causing death by negligence and failing to take proper safety measures as the child's responsible guardian.

A 34-year-old Nigerian national is the foreigner who beat and injured two YAM police officers yesterday in Chloraka.

The Nigerian appeared today in Paphos District Court. The case was registered for hearing on September 8 and the Nigerian was released on parole.
