 Pafos Live 11 August 2023

A strong police force carried out a new operation in the morning in the apartment complex of Chloraka, which, despite being deemed unfit for living, continues to be used mainly by foreigners residing illegally in the country.

Some foreigners continue to illegally connect the apartments they have occupied with the adjacent EAC substation, endangering their own lives.

According to police, in the coordinated operation at the St Nickolas apartment complex in Chloraka, a number of apartments and foreigners were searched.

Five cases of power theft arose, with illegal connections from an adjacent substation. Crews of the community of Chlorakas proceeded again to clean the areas of the complex from garbage and other objects brought to the area by illegal aliens.

Residents of the area argue that a ghetto and space for all illegal activities have been created and call on the state to take more drastic measures.

Two young Israeli passengers caused disruption yesterday morning on a scheduled flight from Larnaca to Tel Aviv.

As a result, police intervened and the young rioters disembarked from the plane for the flight to take place normally.  The incident took place early Thursday morning on a Tus Air flight bound for Tel Aviv. According to the official update, around 07:10 in the morning the managing company of the international airport informed the Airport Security Directorate that two youths had caused a problem.

It appears that one of them opened a bottle and threw the cap at another passenger. According to what was reported, the two young men, 20 and 19 years old, respectively, were causing concern and did not comply with the instructions of the crew. At the same time, the captain of the aircraft decided not to admit them to the flight.

Eventually, the young rioters, accompanied by the policeman, got off the plane. They were severely reprimanded, apologised and then allegedly bought tickets to depart on another flight.

However, media in Israel gave other dimensions to the incident. A report we found said six Israeli youths had been arrested, noting that one of them had thrown a can of soft drink at a passenger sitting in the back seats of the plane. A competent police source, however, assures that there was no such issue and neither had there been any complainant.
