Having fun with a friend at a music festival that took place in an area of Limassol almost turned fatal for a 16-year-old student from Limassol. The dive from a height into an inflatable caused her severe vertebral fracture and spinal cord injury.
The incident took place last Thursday night and was reported to the police the next day by a close relative of the minor.
Following the complaint, members of the Agios Ioannis Police Station rushed to the place where the inflatable boat of the festival had been placed, for on-site investigations and examinations, while the scene of the accident has been photographed. The Labour Inspection Office as well as the Technical Services of the Limassol Municipality have been informed about the case, as permission was granted by the Municipality.
As "F" knows, the minor was outdoors, where the festival was taking place and at one point tried to jump from a height of 10 meters on the inflatable. The 16-year-old, according to the complaint, after falling on the inflatable boat was seriously injured in the spine and for a few minutes panic prevailed at the scene. Under circumstances that are being investigated, it seems at first that the inflatable had deflated. This is according to the testimonies collected so far by the Police.
It is, as we mentioned, a game where you jump from a height of 6, 10 and 15 meters and you fall into an inflatable boat of large dimensions. Upon entering the festival, visitors were entitled to take this "dip".
The minor was transferred to a private hospital in the city where she underwent several hours of surgery as she suffered a fractured vertebra and spinal cord injury, and to this day remains hospitalized. A number of statements are expected to be taken from those involved in the case, with "F" information indicating that there is also video footage of the accident in the hands of the Police.
In a communication that "F" had with one of the organizers and was asked to pose, we were told that the organizers are aware of the complaint, which is currently under investigation by the Police. " We are waiting for the developments of the conclusion of the investigation," he noted.
