In the context of the restructuring of the Social Welfare Services (SWS) of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance (YEKA) and the wider Social Policy of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous, the "Social Worker of the Neighbourhood" Program has begun its operation in the Municipality and in the wider area of Polis Chrysochous.
The vision of the program is to provide accessible, affordable, friendly and personalized social services for holistic support of the individual and family, in a human-centred, interdisciplinary and effective way.
The main objective is to strengthen and safeguard the rights of vulnerable people of the population, improve their standard of living and develop them to their full potential. The Programme is funded by SWS while the SWS Restructuring Project is co-financed by the European Social Fund of the EU.
The Social Worker of the Program undertakes, inter alia, the early detection of conditions for individuals, families and / or social groups that are suspected and / or information has been gathered that they face problems and are in need of psychosocial support and acts as a first point of reference for individuals, families and / or social groups in need of psychosocial support, while it carries out actions to raise awareness and activate citizens on the treatment any social problems of their neighbourhood and/or area that come to their attention.
