The Police recommend special attention to citizens for telephone scams related to investments.
According to a relevant announcement, the Police note that they have received many complaints from citizens that they are receiving such calls.
Police warn of investment-related scams, and advise caution to citizens. Phone calls from mobile phones of Cypriot providers (94......, 95......, 96......, 97......, 99......), where unknown persons who speak Greek or English, tell them that their investment in an online platform has paid off and invite them to provide account details and other personal information in order to receive the money they won.
Police say the alleged investment is non-existent and the public is urged to be extra careful.
