NATIONAL GUARD & UK MILITARY CONDUCTED EXERCISE IN CYPRUS

 The National Guard and the British Armed Forces successfully conducted a small-scale special military exercise called TAMS “ZEUS – 2023” from July 4 to 6 in Cyprus.

According to a press release, the primary objective of the exercise was to facilitate collaborative training between Special Forces personnel in planning and executing combat operations in inhabited mountainous areas.

The exercise encompassed various scenarios, including airlift operations, direct offensive actions within a mountainous environment, training in shooting towers, and enhancing battlefield first aid skills among the personnel.

The Inspector General of the National Guard, Major General Neofytos Pachoulides, participated in the final phase of the exercise. He commended the personnel for their exemplary planning and execution while stressing the significance of joint training exercises in bolstering cooperation and understanding between the armed forces of both nations.

This exercise falls under the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Programme between the Republic of Cyprus and the United Kingdom, aiming to enhance interoperability and underscore the relations between the armed forces of both nations, as concluded in the official statement.
