Inflation has hit several sectors, apart from foodstuffs, and one of them is the car sector or, to be more precise, in addition to the selling prices of vehicles there are increases in their maintenance and repair.
According to data released by the Statistical Office last week, tyre prices increased by 5.1% in June year-on-year compared to 7.3% last year and 0.4% in 2021 compared to 2020.
Spare parts prices rose 5.2% in June year-on-year compared to 9.4% last year and 1.3% in 2021.
Car lubricant prices jumped 20.2% in June compared to a rise of 10.1% last year and 0.3% in 2021. Overall, prices in car maintenance and repair increased by 5.9% in June year-on-year compared to 3.1% in 2022 and 4.8% in 2021.
Other car-related services, as shown by the data of the Statistical Service, recorded a decrease in price of 0,7% as in 2022, while in 2021 it was 1,9%. Prices for renting garages and parking spaces rose 0.2% in June year-on-year, while last year they were 14.2% and in 2021 prices fell by 2.8%.
But there is also the good news related to the car and it is none other than fuel prices. The price of oil is down 21.9% in June year-on-year from a rise of 42.5% last year in the same period and 22.6% in 2021.
The price of gasoline has fallen 21.9% in June year-on-year compared to a 42.5% rise last year and a 22.6% increase in 2021. But there is something else to do with the car and the price has fallen slightly.
According to the Statistical Service, prices for driving lessons and tests fell 0.8% in June year-on-year compared to a fall of 1.7% in 2022 and 2.4% in 2021.
