Another case of inappropriate dog welfare conditions alarmed animal lovers and volunteers, who through groups operating on social media, rushed to help.
This time, two dogs were found tied to a premises in an area of Famagusta district and exposed to the heat wave conditions that have been affecting Cyprus for days.
A citizen who spotted the dogs informed officials, but had no response. A member of the Base Police rushed from the Bases, who, according to the woman's written information, allegedly inspected the premises and the living conditions of the dogs, saying that they were stray dogs that were tied up by the owner of the premises to protect themselves.
He also assured that the dogs were moved to another part of the premises, apparently more suitable (although this has not yet been established).
However, the answers did not satisfy the citizens and volunteers, so the woman who initiated the issue sent a relevant letter to the Ministry of Agriculture to deal with the case."F" contacted yesterday the competent officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, who acted immediately by raising the issue in the emergency room.
As we have been informed, today a competent person will inspect the premises and all necessary actions will be taken for the dogs, while we are waiting for an official update to return to the issue regarding its outcome.
