The owner of a company selling sanitary ware reported to the police that unknown persons broke into a warehouse of his company in the industrial area of Tremithousa and stole ceramics worth €7,000.

According to the owner of the company, the perpetrators, after breaching a sliding door of the warehouse, stole 10 pallets of ceramics with a total value of  €7,000.  

In addition, the owner of a second company that is also involved in the import and trade of sanitary ware reported that unknown persons stole another 150 meters of ceramics from the company's warehouse, this time in the industrial zone of Anatoliko.

The arrest of a 29-year-old man for the purpose of investigating drug trafficking cases and committing serious traffic offences, proceeded to the Police in the Paphos district.

The suspect was taken into custody for police questioning. The 29-year-old suspect was spotted at around 6.40 yesterday afternoon, by members of Team "Z", violating a traffic signal, while driving a rental motorcycle, on a road in Paphos.

The members of the Police called him to stop for a check, but he continued his course driving recklessly and dangerously on a one-way street, as well as on the sidewalk, to escape control.

The members of the Police followed him to intercept him and at a point on the road they noticed him throwing a paper bag into a garbage bin. They stopped him at the scene and after arresting him for flagrant traffic offenses he committed, they subjected him to a check finding in his possession a small amount of cannabis of one gram.

The 29-year-old was arrested for the offence of drug possession, while immediately afterwards, members of the Police found 63 packages containing a total of about 63 grams of cannabis, inside the paper bag that he allegedly threw in the garbage bin. In relation to the cannabis packages found, a case of possession of drugs with intent to supply to other persons is being investigated against the 29-year-old.

In addition to the drug trafficking case, the 29-year-old suspect is also being investigated for committing serious traffic offences. Among other things, the offences of reckless and dangerous driving, failure to stop at a police signal, driving a motorcycle without holding a driving license and without being covered by an insurance certificate are investigated. The offence of driving under the influence of drugs is also being investigated after he underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive result.

The examinations are continued by the YKAN (Paphos District Unit) and the Paphos Traffic Police.

Members of the Police arrested a 24-year-old man, regarding an investigated case of helping third-country nationals to enter the Republic. The case concerns the arrival by sea boat of 26 people in free Famagusta last night. The boat, 7 meters long, was noticed around 7.30 on Monday evening, in the sea area of Famagusta. Members of the Port and Maritime Police who set sail with police boats, located the boat on which there were 26 illegal immigrants, including 18 men, five women, and three children. Among them is the 24-year-old suspect. After the members of the Police took the 26 persons safely to the Fishing Shelter in Paralimni, they were examined by members of the Aliens and Immigration Service - YAM, to verify their details. During the examinations, evidence emerged against the 24-year-old, who was allegedly the driver of the watercraft. He was arrested and taken into custody for investigation purposes. Another one of the 26 irregular migrants, a 36-year-old man, was found to have been in Cyprus in the past and registered as a prohibited migrant. The members of the Police proceeded to arrest him. The remaining 24 persons were transferred to the "POURNARA" hospitality center, with the TAE of Famagusta continuing the examinations.

The case concerns the arrival by sea boat of 18 people in free Famagusta, the evening passed. The boat, 8 meters long, was noticed around 2.00 after midnight, in the sea area of Famagusta. Members of the Coastal and Maritime Police who set sail with a police cruiser, located the boat on which were 18 illegal immigrants, 17 of whom were men, and a child. Among them is the 19-year-old suspect. After the members of the Police safely led the 18 persons to the Paralimni Fishing Refuge, they were examined by members of the Aliens and Immigration Service - YAM, to verify their information. During the examinations, evidence emerged against the 19-year-old, who was allegedly the driver of the watercraft. He was arrested and taken into custody for investigation purposes. Another one of the 18 irregular migrants, a 32-year-old man, was found to have been in Cyprus in the past and registered as a prohibited migrant. The members of the Police proceeded to arrest him. The remaining 16 persons were transferred to the "POURNARA" hospitality center, with the TAE of Famagusta continuing the examinations.
