Police in Paphos are investigating a case of kidnapping of a 25-year-old man.

A 25-year-old man in Polis Chrysochous was kidnapped by four other people because he was suspected of burglary and theft from a residence of one of them, which took place in the previous days.

According to police, the 25-year-old made a complaint yesterday, saying that on Monday four people attacked him and forcibly put him in a vehicle, then transported him to various parts of the area where he was constantly beaten. In the afternoon of the same day, he said, he was released.

The 25-year-old claimed in his statement to the police that the four persons proceeded with his abduction because they consider him a suspect in a case of burglary and theft that took place in Polis Chrysochous in the previous days. From this particular burglary, the perpetrators took money and gold with a total value of more than €70,000. The 25-year-old denies any involvement in the case.

Arrest warrants have been issued against the four people and they are wanted

A 40-year-old foreigner ended up in hospital with injuries after being attacked on Tuesday morning by unknown persons on Stavrou Avenue in Strovolos.

According to the 40-year-old's complaint to the police, the unknown persons retrieved a knife, injured him and robbed him of a sum of money.

Police are investigating the case.

Two 24-year-old people have been arrested for facilitating police investigations into an ongoing case of residential burglary and theft.

In an announcement by the Communication Branch of the PoliceHeadquarters, it is reported on the morning of Tuesday, July 11, by a resident of Larnaka that unknown persons broke into his house and stole a laptop computer as well as a wallet containing a credit card.

According to the complaint, the perpetrators used the card by making purchases from various premises, a supermarket and a kiosk.

The police statement said that during the investigation of the case, testimony emerged against two 24-year-olds, who were located at their home and arrested."

The ICF of Larnaca continues the examinations.
