The Police and specifically the Aliens and Immigration Service – YAM followed up the actions for the repatriation of third-country nationals, with new operations carried out over the last two days.
In two operations carried out by members of the Police Headquarters in coordination with members of the District Unit of the Police Unit in Paphos, a total of 29 nationals of various third countries departed on Thursday and Friday , with flights from Larnaka airport, for return to their countries, following relevant decrees for their compulsory repatriation, issued by the competent Authority.
According to a police statement, since the beginning of the year, through various repatriation operations, more than 4,000 third-country nationals who were illegally in Cyprus have been returned to their countries of origin. This figure reflects more than 85% of the total number of irregular migrants arriving in Cyprus during the same period.
The Police continues to focus its efforts on maximizing the number of repatriations of third-country nationals, in coordination with other competent Services.
