WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY AND ETAP

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region is an ardent supporter of initiatives of the EU and fully shares the European environmental policy which is ensuring the protection and preservation of the environment, shaping movements and action programs until 2050.

The EU's environmental policies and legislation are aimed at the transition towards an economy of low carbon dioxide emissions, in preserving the quality of ecosystems, in proper management of waste (hazardous chemicals, etc.), as well as in the support of businesses with the goal of transitioning to a sustainable economy.

As ETAP we urge businesses and in general partners in the tourism industry to seek to take steps in this direction through:

 Promotion of recycling in workplaces or public spaces

 Control of consumption of energy resources

 Programs to raise awareness of the company's staff or the general public in environmental issues.

 Control of water consumption and other natural resources

 Application of measurement indicators to identify the effects of the production process in the environment in order to implement actions.

 Integration of environmental management systems in the company according to national and international standards standards etc

At the same time, ETAP Paphos as a permanent policy but also because of winning the European title Capital of Smart Tourism 2023 plans for the second half of 2023 actions such as tree planting, cleaning the seabed and beaches, expanding the institution of the "coast quality" in various coastal communities, promotion of alternative forms of transport such as cycling, promoting environmentally friendly activities such as walking tourism, cycling, observation of flora and fauna, etc
