The Cybercrime Sub-Directorate informs citizens about a new scam of account theft on Social Media and specifically on Instagram.
Fraudsters, using already hacked Instagram accounts, send messages to unsuspecting users, asking them to vote in fraudulent contests or various positions they are contesting.
To achieve the vote, perpetrators ask victims to paste a malicious link to their profile, through which they manage to control the victim's account as well.
