CRIME ROUND UP

 Filenews 9 June 2023

A day after a 38-year-old British woman was found dead at her home in Paphos, a second woman died suddenly while also at home. This is a 45-year-old Russian resident of Cyprus, who was found dead yesterday afternoon in her bed by her compatriot husband who had just returned to their residence, in the village of Tremithousa, from his work.

The husband informed the police, whose team rushed to the scene and carried out examinations. The body of the unfortunate woman was transferred to Paphos Hospital pending the arrangements for the legal autopsy.

The cause of death is being investigated by the Police, while the first examinations did not find any traces of external injuries to the unfortunate 45-year-old.

Meanwhile, the autopsy on the body of the 38-year-old woman who was found dead the previous day at her home in Paphos was completed late in the afternoon at the morgue of Nicosia General Hospital. The autopsy did not clarify the cause of death and this is expected to be done after histopathological and toxicological laboratory tests that will be done in the coming days.

According to the spokesman of the Pafos Police Department, Michalis Nicolaou, at this stage there are no injuries that justify her death.
