Michalakis Michael, 51, who was injured at dawn yesterday during a fight in Limassol, succumbed to his injuries.
During the fight, a 44-year-old man was fatally wounded, who died a few minutes after being taken to hospital.
It is recalled that the fight took place around 2am yesterday, outside a pub in Limassol. According to the evidence under investigation, the two victims, as well as their 43-year-old friend, were allegedly attacked by two other persons, aged 49 and 54. Both the 44-year-old and the 51-year-old were seriously injured in the attack with a sharp object, while the 43-year-old suffered minor injuries.
The three injured were taken to Limassol General Hospital, where the 44-year-old was pronounced dead, while the 51-year-old was detained for treatment in critical condition.
The 49-year-old and the 54-year-old were arrested yesterday under court warrants to facilitate interrogations and were placed in eight-day detention following a relevant decree issued against them by the Limassol District Court.
The ICF Limassol is investigating the case.

Paphos Police arrested a couple of visitors at midnight after a call for causing concern at a room hotel while one of them allegedly committed self-harm.
According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, the information was given five minutes after midnight and members of the Paphos Police Authority went to the hotel in Kato Paphos.
In the room they met a 50-year-old man and his wife, 53, who were in Cyprus for a short holiday while the 50-year-old was reportedly bleeding while intoxicated. His 53-year-old wife was also reportedly under the influence of alcohol, police said.
An ambulance was called to the scene to help them and take them to the hospital for treatment.
According to the testimony, the 50-year-old wounded himself with a knife. In an attempt by a member of the police to reassure them, they allegedly attacked the officers, pushing, kicking and insulting them.
The two persons were arrested for the offences of drunkenness, restlessness, common assault, resisting lawful arrest as well as obstructing a police officer in the performance of his duty and were transferred to the Pafos Central Police Station where they were detained.
One member of the force, Mr. Nicolaou said, had a small abrasion and received first aid.

Testimony against three minors emerged from the examinations of the Police, regarding the case of fire that broke out in buses, in Aglantzia, on the afternoon of June 20, 2023,.
According to the Police, due to their age, suspects are handled in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Justice Law Friendly to Children in Conflict with the Law (Law 55(I)/2002).
The fire, which broke out around 20:15 p.m. on June 20, completely destroyed four buses and caused extensive damage to a fifth bus. The five vehicles were parked in a parking lot in the Aglantzia area.

The Paphos District Court today imposed a 17-year prison sentence on a 24-year-old man after he was found guilty of illegally importing 22kg of cannabis and illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply to other persons.
The 24-year-old had been arrested on February 24, 2023 in Paphos, when, following a search of his car conducted by members of the YKAN (Paphos Unit), 22 packages containing green dry cannabis plant matter, weighing a total of approximately 22 kg, were found in two cardboard boxes.

A 26-year-old man, who was wanted for a case of escape from lawful detention, an offence committed on September 9, 2021 in Limassol, was located yesterday and arrested.
It is recalled that the then 24-year-old Turkish Cypriot detainee managed to escape from the Germasogeia Police Station while outside the cell, in a visitors' room without handcuffs.
The police launched a manhunt from the first moment to locate him.

A 16-year-old Greek Cypriot was in possession of 25 grams of cannabis last night.
The vehicle driven by the young man was stopped by members of the police for inspection last night in the University area.
The driver tested positive in a drug test and a subsequent search of the vehicle found a quantity of cannabis weighing 16 grams.
