CRIME ROUND UP

 Filenews 13 June 2023

Driving a pickup truck on the front of a supermarket, three people attempted to steal from it, but their attempt remained incomplete. The incident happened shortly after four in the morning at a supermarket on the Kissonerga road to Coral Bay.

As can be seen from the closed circuits of the business and other premises in the area, the van moved in reverse, fell on the metal sliding door on the façade of the business and destroyed it. A masked man got off the vehicle, entered the premises and went to the cash register, which did not contain any money.

The perpetrator fled the scene and boarded a second vehicle waiting at the scene with two other people and fled the scene.

Police rushed to the scene cordoning off the area and began investigating. As shown by the first examinations, the van had been stolen earlier from the Geroskipou area.
