166 IRREGULAR MIGRANTS RETURNED TO THEIR COUNTRIES OF ORIGIN

A total of 166 third-country nationals, who were illegally present in Cyprus, returned to their countries of origin last week, in the context of relevant operations of the Aliens and Immigration Service.

The operations, which took place between the dates of June 10 and 16, 2023, involved members of the Aliens and Immigration Service Headquarters and the district units of the Aliens and Immigration Service.

Of the 166 persons repatriated in the last week, 107 returned to their country voluntarily, while the remaining 59 cases involved forced returns.

Since the beginning of the year, through various repatriation operations, a total of 4055 third-country nationals who were illegally present in Cyprus have been returned to their countries of origin. This figure reflects 87.7% of the total number of arrivals of irregular foreigners in Cyprus during the same period.
