SWEEPING SEARCHES FOR PERICLEOUS - EVIDENCE FOUND

 Filenews 16 May 2023

Since Tuesday morning, investigations by the Police and Civil Defense are underway to locate Angelos Pericleous, who according to the 71-year-old uncle of the main suspect in the case, the 24-year-old hacker killed and buried him and then tried to destroy evidence. At the point where the searches are carried out, various items were found, such as pistol shells, hand scissors, chains and adhesive tapes.

According to the information so far, the search for the 31-year-old Pericleous is being carried out in the Limassol District and specifically in the areas of Governor's Beach, Mari and Vasilikos, with the participation of 25 members of the Police, the Civil Defence, using detection dogs and drones.

It is recalled that today the three defendants in the case of the disappearance and murder of 31-year-old Angelos Pericleous are being brought before the Nicosia District Court. Today's proceedings are expected to consider the request for detention of the three accused, namely the 24-year-old hacker and the main suspect in the murder of the missing Pericleous, his 59-year-old mother and his 71-year-old uncle.

New facts and details about the 24-year-old hacker are coming to light

In the hands of the investigators of the ICF Limassol is footage, which records the 24-year-old hacker along with a 25-year-old Russian holding pistols and shooting in a remote area of Limassol, during the dates between 3 and 21 April 2023.

The ICF investigators, after thoroughly studying the videos, identified the 25-year-old from Russia, a permanent resident of Cyprus, as he had concerned the authorities in the past. Then, on Friday (12/5), the suspect was handcuffed and the next day he was brought before the Court for a request for his detention. The court ordered his detention for a period of four days with the suspect facing the offences of possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of bullets.

As "F" is aware, in his testimony the 25-year-old confessed to the possession and use of pistols and bullets, giving various details of events and allegations. He also expressed his intention to show authorities a place where he and the 24-year-old were shooting.

The video emerged as part of an investigation into the case of 31-year-old Pericleous. On 24/4 a search was carried out on a Honda vehicle, which was found abandoned in the area of Agios Georgios Alamanos. The car had been lent to the hacker by a third person. The search of the vehicle received various items such as a memory card.

On that card, as it turned out after examinations, were stored the relevant videos that record the suspect along with the 24-year-old hacker, possessing two pistols and using them. The videos also showed that the two were targeting and shooting at an old refrigerator, wearing black rubber gloves.

On the basis of this data, the area was identified and an on-site search was carried out on May 11. During the incident, a bullet and two cartridge cases of a 9 mm calibre pistol were found, as well as two black gloves. It was also found that the old refrigerator had 15 bullet holes.

Did the hacker bathe in oil?

The three defendants in the case of the disappearance and murder of 31-year-old Angelos Pericleous are brought before the Nicosia District Court again. The latter has not given signs of life since the afternoon of April 20, 2023. Today's proceedings are expected to consider the detention requests of the three accused. That is, whether they will all remain on trial until the start of the trial, which was set before the Assize Court on June 6. Lawyers for the two defendants, the hacker's 59-year-old mother and his 71-year-old uncle, have prepared to raise issues over their clients' detention request. Meanwhile, as "F" is aware, the witness material includes five statements from the 71-year-old. It is striking to report that after committing the murder, the 24-year-old went to the apartment where his uncle and mother live and took a bath with oil to remove, as he claimed, the traces of gunpowder on his skin.
