CCTV footage of the Alphamega Stadium appears to "burn" three faces, in relation to the bag that was found hidden inside the false ceiling in the Apollon latrines, which contained 53 smoke canisters and 9 flares.
The investigation team of the ICF of Limassol, after carefully studying the footage from the CCTV of the stadium, reached the traces of three suspects who were allegedly involved in the placement of the backpack, but also with the smoke and torches used during yesterday's derby between Apollon and APOEL. CCTV recorded suspicious movements of three people, a 48-year-old, a 37-year-old and a 38-year-old man, who is wanted.
The authorities initially handcuffed the 48-year-old, who was brought before the Limassol Court yesterday with a request for his detention. The Court ordered his detention for a period of 3 days. According to reliable information of "F" from the Police, this is a person who works as a security assistant of Apollo. Yesterday afternoon, the 37-year-old, who works as a technician / maintenance of the stadium, was also arrested. The 37-year-old was questioned, investigated and then released late last night without charge pending examination of the various evidence.
As "F" is informed and according to the facts of the case under investigation, from the CCTV that checks the latrine where the bag was found, it was found that around 15.35 on Sunday afternoon a person working at Apollo entered the toilet three times within a few minutes, in possession of a backpack that resembles the one found. The person in question is recorded leaving for the last time at 18.38, holding the backpack.
At 16.54pm, the 48-year-old suspect and the 37-year-old enter the lavatory together. The first is in possession of a black backpack which resembles the one found by the police. The 37-year-old suspect leaves the scene at 16.55pm, while the 48-year-old exits after about two minutes, without the backpack he was holding. At 17.05 members of the Police located the black backpack with torches and smoke canisters. Also, tests carried out on Monday inside the pitch of the stadium found used smoke canisters and torches that resemble those in the backpack.
The case is expected to receive 35 statements from people working at the stadium and supervisors.
