Filenews 4 May 2023 - by Ioanna Mantzipia

The investigations of the ICF of Limassol continue in relation to the murder of 31-year-old Angelos Pericleous, whose body has not yet been located. The primary goal is to locate where the 31-year-old was murdered and buried, according to the written testimony of the 71-year-old and uncle of the 24-year-old hacker, who is suspected in the murder.

Despite what the 71-year-old revealed to investigators last Sunday, the only thing he did not say was the location of the crime, appearing to be ignorant. The 71-year-old testified about important details that his nephew confided in him, such as that he caused Pericles' death by shooting him with more than 10 bullets and then burying him.

At the moment, statements are being taken from various persons related to the 24-year-old and all those involved as well as from the victim's side. Until yesterday, 180 documents had been received about the case, several of which were sent to laboratories for scientific examinations. The results of the scientific examinations are expected to tie the case even better.

The head of the case told the court that the 24-year-old had even bought a battery chainsaw in addition to duct tape, shovels, gloves, bags, ropes, scissors, knives and an axe. By midday on Tuesday, 12 targeted searches had been carried out and another large-scale search is expected in the coming days to locate the 31-year-old's body. Dozens of CCTV will also be studied, while five more investigations are planned to identify important evidence.

The results of the telecommunications data of the victim, the 24-year-old and the other two suspects also play an important and decisive role. The focus of the research is on areas between the districts of Limassol, Larnaka and Nicosia. This is the area of the Governor's Beach where the suspect owns a residence that he rented to another person. The area of Agios Georgios Alamanos where three days after the disappearance of Pericles, a Honda vehicle, which was abandoned with flat tyres and dirt, was found. This vehicle had been borrowed on April 17 by the 24-year-old from a person in Nicosia and with it he went to the 36-year-old's residence, where he left it to get his own, which was located near the victim's apartment building.

The area of Zygi and Tochni has been put under the microscope as it was where the 31-year-old's mobile phone was last signalled, while in the area of Paliometocho and Kokkinotrimithia the victim's vehicle was found burnt and the movements of the three suspects have been recorded by closed circuits.
