An unspeakable tragedy unfolded a short while ago in Paphos and specifically in Emba. Under circumstances that police are still investigating, a child just four years old tragically died in a communal swimming pool of a residential complex in which the family lives.
According to the spokesman of the Pafos Police Department, Michalis Nicolaou, the tragic incident happened shortly before 11am. The four-year-old boy was found unconscious in the pool by the parents, who immediately transferred him to a private doctor where it was determined that he was already dead.
The child's lifeless body was then transferred to Paphos Hospital, where members of the Pafos ICF rushed to examine the body. From the first investigations, Mr. Nicolaou stressed, it appears that it was a drowning.
Investigations are ongoing.
