The results of scientific tests at the Institute of Genetics and Neurology are awaiting the police to identify the bones found yesterday and the day before yesterday in a rural area of the village of Agia Marinouda, just outside Geroskipou.
Research in the area continues today with the aim of locating the remaining bones that are estimated to have been dispersed in the area by animals or birds of prey. In addition to the bones, women's clothes, a silver chain with a jewel in the shape of a heart were found, while based on the first estimates of experts, the skull and the bones that have been found belong to a person close to fifty years old. In addition to the pendant and clothing, another clue that could help identify are three capped teeth found in the skull.
The police are awaiting the results of the scientific examinations while investigating all missing cases reported in the last ten years, mainly in the Paphos district. The investigations focus mainly on two relatively recent cases of foreign women with a medical history of dementia who have disappeared.
