The community of Konia is one of the most rapidly growing communities in Cyprus.
Before 2000, the inhabitants of Konia did not exceed one thousand and now exceed eight thousand, with the forecast for 2030 talking about doubling them. The community council aims at the same time to preserve the identity of the community.
The regeneration of the core in combination with the expropriation of mainly old buildings and land have created the conditions for the operation in the community of catering establishments that increase the number of visitors to the community.
The president of the community of Konia, Kyriakos Kyriakou, said that the third and final phase of the redevelopment of the core has highlighted the traditional buildings in the center of the community while at the same time the visual pollution created by cables, columns and signs has been eliminated.
