In recent years, the Municipality of Pafos has been making huge efforts to carry out important projects in our city, while it proceeds to the beautification and maintenance of facades of buildings, parks and other areas of public use.
At the same time, it pays particular attention to the removal of any elements that cause visual pollution in order to form an aesthetically upgraded built environment, both for citizens and visitors of our city.
"It is regrettable and at the same time unacceptable to destroy this beautiful image of the city by writing slogans or any kind of phrases on walls, parks, games in playgrounds or to destroy public property in parks, toilets, etc. by invoking a misunderstood modern culture, which is nothing but a manifestly delinquent and antisocial attitude and behaviour.
We want to invite the young people of our city to understand that they must actively love their city, love the projects and infrastructure that have been made to serve current and future generations and that they are the ones who enjoy and will enjoy the projects that are implemented.
We are ready to discuss with organized groups, mainly football fans, in order to give them the opportunity to create beautiful and organized graffiti based on the practice applied in European countries in order to end the current unacceptable situation, which not only degrades our city aesthetically but also reduces the level of its culture."
