On June 22, the final speeches in the murder case of Janice Hunter by her husband David in Tremithousa are expected to be heard.
The 75-year-old's lawyer, Michael Polak, said in a statement: "The evidence shows they had a happy marriage and David did that because his wife asked him to, and he had denied it to her on many other occasions.
It wasn't a premeditated event, as it turns out he tried to kill himself using the over-the-counter drug, which was in their home instead of buying something stronger. We will submit arguments to the Court showing that David is not guilty of premeditated murder."
The statement also appealed for donations to the 75-year-old to cover legal costs. So far he has raised £30,830.
