The physiotherapists of the GHS reject the financial proposal of the Health Insurance Organisation and do not exclude the adoption of measures. The disagreement between the two sides continues. Physiotherapists have long publicized the financial difference they have with the organization, arguing that the HIO does not take into account the real needs of patients and has budgets that cannot cover them. For its part, the HIO rejects the allegations and argues that the budget for physiotherapy has already been increased compared to 2022.
Yesterday, after the Association of Physiotherapists held a general meeting of its members last Friday, it published a letter which it sent to the HIO notifying it, among others, to the President of the Republic and the Minister of Health requesting their intervention.
"The extraordinary general meeting of the PSF on May 5 decided to reject your proposal for 2023, which you sent us on April 24. At the same time, he authorized us to take any measures needed. The board does not want the measures to be escalated and the suffering of patients. Please revise your proposal as a last-ditch attempt to resolve the matter," the letter said.
It is recalled that the HIO had increased the budget for physiotherapy from €21.9 million. in 2022 to €25.2 million. in 2023 and informed the club of the possibility of a further increase of up to €26 million. The association, citing an expert study, argues that the needs are much greater.
