Following local assemblies in all public hospitals, PASYKI's members have supported and approved the Board of Directors' proposal for a 24-hour strike to take place from 7:30 a.m. on May 11 until 7:30 a.m. on May 12, a statement said.
The announcement adds that insurance uncertainty has plagued public hospitals and health professionals for about 4 years and that "the competent services of the State, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and the Legal Service do not attribute to civil servants (permanent and indefinite) the provisions recorded in the legislations, who were seconded/transferred to OKYPY, provided that they retain their obligations and rights".
It is also stated that OKYPY has not defined the corresponding procedures, as it was its obligation, for doctors employed under contracts.
"Unfortunately, until today, PASYKI's repeated efforts in all directions for a timely resolution of the issue have not met with a response," the statement concludes.
