Following information received through Europol that a certain user of an online platform sent child sexual abuse material to other users, members of the Cybercrime Branch proceeded to arrest a 21-year-old man.
The 21-year-old was arrested this morning on a court warrant and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations. A mobile phone was found in his possession and received as evidence.
The Cybercrime Division is investigating the case.

Police arrested two people aged 18 and 37 yesterday in connection with ongoing cases of illegal possession of drugs for the purpose of supply and money laundering.
Specifically, yesterday around 1pm, members of the Limassol Traffic Police and the Limassol Traffic Police stopped for inspection the car driven by a 34-year-old woman with an 18-year-old passenger in Limassol.
In a search of the car, nothing was found, while in a search that followed under a court warrant, at the house of the 18-year-old, the amount of €4,725, cannabis seeds, 15 grams of cannabis and 10 grams of crystalline substance were located in various places and confiscated, among others.
The 18-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offence and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.
Also, around 2.20pm. Yesterday, members of the Larnaca YKAN stopped a 37-year-old man for inspection while he was leaving his orchard in an area of Larnaka.
In a search, the 37-year-old was found in possession of three nylon bags containing a total of 204 grams of cannabis, three nylon bags containing a total of 78 grams of cocaine and the sum of €1,860.
Subsequently, the orchard was searched, pursuant to a court warrant, where a buried plastic barrel containing 594 grams of cannabis, 50 grams of cocaine and a scale with traces of cannabis were located and seized.
Also, 17 firecrackers and 25 fireworks were located and confiscated. Then, a cannabis plant, about 90 cm high, was found, which was planted near the fence of the orchard.
The 37-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offence and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.

A complaint of attempted abduction of a minor is being investigated by the Police in Larnaca.
Specifically, the complaint states that an unknown young man, riding a motorcycle, approached the eight-year-old while she was outside the school and told her in Greek that her mother asked him to take her home.
The girl refused, while after the relevant complaint, the Police received a statement from the father and the teacher of the school and closed circuits from the area are being examined, without anything having been detected at the moment.
It is noted that instructions were given for increased patrols in places where children are located, while neighbourhood observers and parents were notified.
