The archaeological site of Kourion in Episkopi was targeted by burglars with the perpetrators extorting from the safe the amount of €6,000, which was the proceeds of the three days. According to information from the SBA Police, the burglary is estimated to have been committed sometime from 19:30 last night until this morning.
The perpetrators with the use of burglary tools managed to break down the door of the office and extract from the safe the proceeds that reach about €6,000.
Members of the SBA Police were called to the scene for on-the-spot examinations and collection of evidence.
The office of the archaeological site of Kourion has an alarm system, but it is not covered by closed-circuit surveillance. The perpetrators seem to have taken advantage of the past three days as there was increased traffic to the archaeological site of Kourion.

A case of theft of solar water heater plates from a building complex in Paphos is being investigated by the Police, who after testimony are looking for a 56-year-old suspect.
According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, on Sunday, at 22:00, a 37-year-old man reported that between April 28 and 30, solar water heater plates and boilers of unknown value were stolen from a building complex.
Further examinations carried out by the police revealed testimony against a 56-year-old man against whom an arrest warrant has been issued and is wanted.
The examinations for the above case are ongoing.

Two more Limassol schools have been damaged by vandals following a football match, President of the Limassol School Board, Dinos Ellinas, reported to CyBC on Tuesday.
Vandals on Monday destroyed toilets and doors at the Lanition lyceum, and burned patches of artificial lawn and several playground structures at the 8th public nursery school, Ellinas said.


Damages have not yet been precisely estimated, nor have the delinquents been caught, but football graffiti slogans defacing both schools left no doubt as to the nature of the perpetrators, Ellinas said.

Paphos Police arrested a 42-year-old man on Sunday in connection with a theft case. According to the Spokesperson of the Paphos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, the 42-year-old allegedly stole property and various items from a restaurant in Kato Paphos.
The offence of theft was allegedly committed on April 26, 2023. The complaint was made by a 35-year-old tavern owner in Kato Paphos, who reported to the Police that according to the CCTV of his premises, on April 26 at around 4:25 a car of a certain registration number was parked outside his tavern, with its driver then proceeding to steal from his premises.
After further examinations and based on the vehicle number and the testimony that emerged, the police proceeded to arrest the 42-year-old on Sunday night, who is in custody.
