An incredible incident took place in Limassol, when unknown persons broke into and robbed a funeral home. Among the stolen goods  - a hearse.

According to information, the incident took place last Tuesday, when unknown persons broke into the funeral home of the Metropolis of Limassol.

As reported to the police, a sum of money of €1,425, hearse keys and a hearse worth €25,000 were stolen.

Members of the ICF of Limassol rushed to the scene for examinations. No traces of tampering were found and it is believed that the attackers managed to enter through the windows.

For the investigation of the case, various documents were received, which will be sent for examination.

The ICF Limassol continues the examinations.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man yesterday to facilitate investigations into the arrival of a boat in the Famagusta sea area, with a total of 26 people on board.

The boat was intercepted at around 2.30pm. yesterday, in the sea area off Cape Greco, by a vessel of the Port and Maritime Police. It was found that there were 19 men, three women and four minors on board.

The passengers were transported by the L&N Police boat to Ayia Napa Marina, while their boat sank due to its poor condition.

Tests carried out revealed that the vessel had set sail off the coast of Syria on the evening of May 9, 2023. According to testimonies obtained the captain of the boat was the 36-year-old, who was arrested and detained to facilitate interrogations.

The remaining 25 passengers, upon completion of the examinations, were transferred to the Accommodation Center "Pournara".

The Famagusta ICF is investigating the case.

A car accident involved a 23-year-old man in Peyia who was driving under the influence of drugs and without a driver's license. 

According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, on 10.3.23 at 13:35, a 23-year-old man was driving his car on Michalakis Avenue Kyprianou Pegeia, in the direction of Coral Bay Avenue, when, under circumstances that are being investigated, he lost control of his vehicle, deviated from its course to the left and collided with a CYTA pole, which he cut off. 

Members of the Pegeia police station visited the scene, investigated the traffic accident and as it emerged after further checking, the 23-year-old was driving without a driver's license, without insurance and was positive for a drug test.

In the context of investigating a relevant complaint concerning home burglary and theft, committed on May 9, 2023 in Nicosia, the Police proceeded to arrest two persons aged 37 and 30.

According to the complaint, a cell phone, a tablet and a laptop computer were stolen from the house. During the investigation and on the basis of an evaluation of evidence, members of the Police detected yesterday in old Nicosia, a person attempting to sell a mobile phone in an electronics store. In a body search that followed, the said person, aged 37, was found in possession of a tablet and a laptop, objects resembling those stolen during the above burglary and he was arrested for a flagrant offence.

During the investigation of the case, testimony emerged against a second person aged 30 who was located shortly afterwards and arrested.

The two arrested persons were taken to the offices of the ICF Nicosia where they were found to be staying illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and were re-arrested on the basis of court warrants.
